Do you know what a keystone is? Alright, bear with me, we’re going a little architecture geek here, but stick with me—it all ties back to health.
A keystone is the stone at the center of an arch. It’s the one piece that holds everything else together. Lock it in place, and the whole structure is solid. Take it out, and well, good luck keeping that arch standing! The keystone is everything.
For me, health is my keystone. It’s my cornerstone goal in life—to have and maintain good health. Why? Because when your health isn’t working, nothing is. You can have big dreams, ambitious goals, beautiful relationships, but if your health isn’t in place, things start to crumble. Trust me, I know. I’ve been there.
My Journey Through Chronic Illness
I’ve been battling chronic illness for over a decade now. I’ve had Lyme disease, gut issues, nervous system dysregulation, hormone imbalances—you name it. There were days when I couldn’t even get out of bed. Imagine feeling like life has just been drained out of you, and all you can do is survive, just trying to make it through the day.
When you’re in that state, it’s impossible to focus on anything else. Your dreams? They fade into the background because you’re too busy just trying to keep your head above water. I get it—it’s exhausting.
But let me tell you, the moment I started to get my health back on track, everything began to fall into place. I had more energy. I had more focus. I was me again, showing up every single day. It wasn’t an overnight fix—it took dedication to make my health a priority. Now, I regularly practice breathwork, yoga, and focus on good nutrition to keep myself feeling balanced and strong. These daily habits have transformed my life, proving to me time and time again that health matters.
When You Feel Good, You Can Do Good
Here’s the thing: when you feel good, you can do good. You have the energy to show up for the people you love, to perform well at work, to chase those dreams you’ve been holding onto. You can aim high, build that dream life, and actually enjoy it because you’re not constantly drained.
But if you’re burning the candle at both ends, listen up: it’s only a matter of time before your body says, “Enough.” Trust me, I’ve learned this lesson the hard way. You can’t keep pushing through, thinking you’ll deal with it later. Your health is too important to put on the back burner. Health matters more than you realize—until it’s gone.
The Wake-Up Call
Health is something we tend to take for granted—especially when we’re young, or if we haven’t yet faced serious health issues. We think we’re invincible, but every little thing we neglect adds up. Whether it’s poor diet, lack of movement, stress, or burnout, these things catch up to us. And suddenly—BAM!—you’re dealing with illness, injury, or burnout.
At some point, your body—or your mind—is going to force you to slow down. And that’s a wake-up call no one wants.
I don’t want that for you. I want you to live your best life with optimal health and energy. But if you’re not making your health a priority now, your body will make you listen eventually. Health matters more than we often realize, but it’s the foundation for everything else we want to achieve.
Take Care of Your Keystone
So, here’s my advice: don’t wait for that breaking point. Take care of your keystone—whether that’s health or any other critical goal in your life. But make health one of your priorities, please. If you’re not sure where to start, find support. Get a good doctor, see a naturopath, or work with a health coach.
Health coaches are fantastic because they can be there when your doctors aren’t. They help weave everything together, not just focusing on treatment but creating a holistic plan to help you build better routines, reclaim your energy, and truly live again.
If you’re interested in working with me, I’d love to help. My coaching program, The Energy Remedy, focuses on improving your energy, health, and vitality—whether it’s dealing with mental stress or physical issues. We’ll get to the root of it and help you feel like yourself again.
